Pics on the go to Sweden ...

Unfortunately, my journey to Stockholm was a little bit longer than expected, but I met new interresting people and saw new places - here are a few pics on the go:

Waiting for the hotel shuttle bus at around midnight!

Hotel restaurant - kitchen already closed! = no dinner

Nice dining area, but no food for us! But they told us we will get brekki at 5am right before we have to leave to the airport. Not really an alternative for starving passengers but something to look forward to!
Made a new Finnish friend at the airport! She is doing her PhD in mechanical engineering *wow* and in July she will attend a conference on a boat - trip between Stockholm and Helsinki, maybe we can meet up then ;-)
My room for about 4h, but more important was the bathtub - after 4mo of just taking a shower this means heaven for a girl ;-)
After a long bath I just had 2h left before I had to get up again, so I decided to watch TV or better listen to the TV with closed eyes ;-)

Arlanda Express just needs 20min to the city, but rather expensive with 260 SEK one way!
My Tunnelbanan Metro line T13 to my stop

Bredäng / Skärholmen
Built in the 1960s to offer cheap accom to workers, but now these building of the 'Miljonprogrammet' cause a lot of troubles because they are old, unmodernized and have a high concentration of immigrants from all over the world.

My first impression of the people here - they are really nice but obviously life hasn't treated them so well and most of them are socially isolated from the Swedish population.

To me, it is like travelling between two worlds - riding the Metro to the inner city and then going back to my suburb (ghetto) in Bredäng. So far, I have to admit, I like it here and the parks and the forrest is really nice, too.  We even have our own BBQ place infront of our house - better than at Mt. Nelson ;-)
